Bayo Ojo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and a Senior Partner in the law firm of Bayo Ojo & Co., is the promoter and Director of the International Centre for Arbitration and Mediation Abuja (ICAMA). He graduated from the University of Lagos, Nigeria in June 1977 where he obtained his LL.B and was called to the Nigerian Bar in July 1978. He later obtained an LL.M from the London School of Economics and Political Science, University of London in 1982. He also obtained a Diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from the Chartered Institute of arbitrators, London, and was admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales. He has acted as sole Arbitrator, member of arbitral panels and as Counsel in numerous domestic and international arbitrations. A former Attorney General and Minister of Justice of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,  past President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), past Chairman of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Nigeria, Ojo was, until recently, a member of the United Nations International Law Commission, Geneva, Switzerland where he resigned after a four year stint to enable him have more time for his practice and the demands of being a member of the Board of Trustees of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, London and Council member of the Section on Energy and Natural Resources Law of the International Bar Association. He is a judge of the ICSID Panel of Arbitrators, Washington DC, and a member of the Permanent Court of Arbitration, Hague, Netherlands. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Chartered Arbitrator.
